The Certificate in Sales and Marketing programme aims to give students a firm understanding of the principles and techniques of the sales and marketing functions.
Upon successful completion of all modules, the successful candidate will be awarded the Certificate in Sales and Marketing.
This is a 6-month full-time programme, covering 4 modules with a total of 168 contact hours.
The delivery of this programme involves lectures, group discussions, case studies and presentations by students. Classes are usually held five times a week. Weekly lectures are conducted by qualified and experienced local lecturers approved by the Institute.
Students are required to pass the overall assessment in order to be granted a passing grade for each module. Singapore-based students are required to fulfil the attendance requirement of at least 75%, while international students requires of at least 90% for each module before they are considered eligible to take the examinations / assessment of the module concerned.
This module draws attention to how demand is generated by consumers and how marketers use various marketing tools to understand consumer behaviour and to create consumer satisfaction. Topics consist of fundamental models of consumer behaviour, stages of buyer decision processes, consumer motives and value, perception, consumer attitudes and cultures.

• Attitudes formation and change
• Personality and lifestyles
• Cultures and subcultures
The primary theme of this module is that marketing is undergoing dramatic and exciting changes and the field promises to be just as dynamic in the years ahead. Even the smallest firms are using innovative marketing techniques to compete globally. Students will explore what marketing is all about and gain an appreciation of what is really involved in marketing a company and its products effectively.

• Segmenting and targeting markets
• Pricing decisions
• Marketing channels and retailing
This module focuses on developing skills in face-to-face customer interactions and building a professional image. While it is important for a business or marketing students to have wide and varied technical knowledge and skills, it is equally crucial to acquire the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and nonverbally.
Some of the topics that will be covered:
• Effective oral and listening skills
• Handling and managing difficult customers
• Non-verbal communication
• Emotional intelligence
Students will learn professional sales related skills that lead to success in the selling environments. With an emphasis of putting the customer first and of developing customer relationships, students will be given opportunity to plan and conduct a sales presentation. A detailed and step by step selling process will be covered, taking students in every phase of the sales from planning to follow up strategies. The approach gives students the practical and theoretical foundations needed to be successful in a sales career.
